ASEAN 2008 will coming soon and of course air liberalization in domestic and region will coming too. Preparation to winning the competition in the global market, PT Garuda Indonesia (Garuda) will needed about US$ 1.3 miliard to realize they target with additional 20 unit new airplane for airbus type 320 (A-320).
As we know that the market price has offered by European Community to buying this airplane type (A-320) is about US$ 65 million per unit (www.antara.co.id).
Until now, Garuda has been trying to re-negociate with European Community to get the A-320 type with lower price and of course under the price market (US$ 65 million per unit). Garuda hope that A-320 type can buy about US$ 40 million per unit.
If this price approved by European Community, Garuda only needed about US$ 800 million to get it and not US$ 1.3 milliard as above. Beside that, In this year, Garuda has needed about 7 airplane type Boeing 737 and 2 airplane for freighter and also for boeing 737 type. It also still negociated by Garuda.
