INTRAC has received 11.470 Suspicious Transaction Report
Money laundering as a crime of global dimension is a new concept in many countries, including Indonesia. The magnitude of its impact on the economy of a country encourages countries and world organizations to commit significant resources to the eradication and prevention of this crime (www.ppatk.go.id).
Until the end of October 2007, Indonesia Financial Transaction Reports Analysis Centre (INTRAC) has received 11.470 suspicious Transaction Report (STR) from various institution.
These report has reported by 119 bank institution, 19 securities institution, 3 investment manager, 20 foreign exchange trading, 1 pension fund institution, and 19 insurance institution.
For Cash Transaction Report (CTR), till the end of September 2007, INTRAC has received 3.889.917 report from 215 Financial Services Institution.
Chairman INTRAC, Yunus Hussein as a speaker of Money Laundering at Law Faculty of Kristen Tomohon University, said that our condition entirely refer to money laundering is still have so many trouble in implementation, but it is already positive influence and significantly in Indonesia.
One of Non-Goverment Organization (international institution) has giving us a good point for cooperating to handle the money laundering case. It will be influence to decreasing our country risk to investment for foreign and domestic investor , and so it will be growing up our investation condition for entirely.
