Last week, PT Garuda Indonesia Airways (GIA) has receive award from The International Air Transport Association (IATA) for Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate in Istanbul, Turki.
The award has giving by director general of IATA, Giovanni Bisignani to president director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar on Tuesday (June, 03rd of 2008).
This award also as a brandishing certificate for internationally recognized safety standards, national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is seeking exemption from the European Union’s flight ban list.
Garuda CEO and Emirsyah Satar will lead a team to meet with the European Commission’s airline safety authority to explain safety improvement measures adopted by the airline.
The European Commision Flight will updating the status of Garuda Indonesia Airlines in July 2008. Currently, almost over 15 countries are already requesting IOSA certification as a national requirement (www.thejakartapost.com).
