2009, dividends from BUMN Rp. 33 trillion

First semester of 2008, total dividends put in by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) has reached Rp. 13.4 trillion. These dividends was contributed by the banking sector around Rp. 4.5 trillion and from the non-banking sector around Rp. 8.9 trillion. 

Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani was submitted the report in a hearing with the House of Representatives (DPR)’s comission XI, State-Owned Enterprises Minister, Sofyan Djalil and some directors of BUMN’s, which consist of Bank Mandiri, PT Pertamina, PT PLN, Semen Gresik, Jamsostek, Telkom, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia.

Sri Mulyani was targeted that dividend from BUMN’s on this year (2008) is around Rp. 31.2 trillion, while for next year (2009) it should be Rp. 33 trillion or increase 6.5% from the last year targets. 

The dividend budget for 2009 will be contributed by PT Pertamina Rp. 18,2 triliun, BUMN from banking sector Rp. 4,1 triliun, and PT Telkom Rp. 4,1 triliun. The others contribution are consist of BUMN from mining and energy sector Rp. 2,7 triliun, BUMN from transportation sector Rp. 800 miliar, and the other of BUMN Rp. 3,1 triliun. 

The rising number of BUMN dividends for the next year was the result of improved performance besides external factors such as the rising oil and mining commodity prices and high prices of plantation and farm commodities.
