Bajaj Upgrade Their Existing Plan

1-bajaj.jpgIn 2009, the Bajaj Group is amongst the top 10 business houses in India which motorcycle maker “Bajaj” has plans to spend between US$ 50 – US$ 60 million for the next year to upgrade their existing plant in here, highlighting the positive prospects for Indonesia’s motorcycle industry despite forecasts of slower economic growth. 

Lim Sam Hong as a Regional Sales Manager of Bajaj Auto Indonesia was confirmed the plan, saying it would increase its existing capacity of 100,000 semi-knocked down motorcycles per year and the construction is expected to start in mid-2009.  

Bajaj Auto, is ranked as the world’s fourth largest two and three wheeler manufacturer and the Bajaj brand is well-known in over a dozen countries in Europe, Latin America, the US and Asia. 

Founded in 1926, at the height of India’s movement for independence from the British, the group has an illustrious history. 

The present Chairman and Managing Director of the group, Rahul Bajaj took charge of the business in 1965. Under his leadership, the turnover of the Bajaj Auto the flagship company has gone up from Rs. 72 million to Rs. 46.16 billion (US$ 936 million).
