Global crisis was affected some of the big company in the world, as we know that General Motor was collaps and bankrupcy condition currently.
It was also influence PT Indomobil Sukses International in Indonesia. As a publicly listed automobile and motorcycle assembler, Indomobil forecast its revenue may drop about 18.8 percent by the year end on the back of weak purchasing power.
A study from the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industry (Gaikindo), car sales would be drop from 602,744 units last year (2008) become to 400.000 unit on this year (2009).
Gaikindo’s latest report reveals car sales from early January to the end of May was reached 169,462 cars with Indomobil selling about 29,000 units.
Total revenue Indomobil’s in the first quarter show of Rp 1.59 trillion, or down by 3.51 percent compared to the same period last year as both automotive sales and the company’s volume of financial services suffered from the liquidity crisis.
Due to the economic slowdown, some analysts and business players has predicted that vehicle sales might drop by as much as 30 percent on this year.
