The government of Indonesia is very optimistic that the economic growth will be 6,2% for the next year (2009).
Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that our economic growht in the last 8 month of this year (2008) was realized by more than 6% and our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from non-oil and gas sector also was increased become to 7%.

Malls and office buildings agreed with state power company PLN to enact a less severe version of a regulation on power-saving after originally rejecting the decree and threatening protests.
Director PLN for Java and Bali, Murtaqi Syamsudin said that the parties agreed that the businesses will switch to power generators for three hours per week, instead of the initially proposed 10 hours.

To increase the economic growth, the local government of North Sulawesi provincial (Manado) was approved almost 42 foreign investment projects since 2005 till 2008.
According to Ridwan Zees as a Head of the Program Development Unit at the North Sulawesi Regional Investment and Cooperation Coordination Board (BKPMKR), currently the foreign investment was interest to invest the projects were mostly engaged in the fishery and tourism sectors.

Bakrie Group as a holding company of PT Bakrieland Development Tbk has plan to realize the “Sea Life” project in the next year (2009).
This project location will be realize in Karakatoa Nirwana Resort, Lampung and the company will be needed the investment around Rp. 10 billion.
Chief Marketing Officer of PT Bakrieland Development Tbk., Seno Adhikwanto said that the project will be focus for sea tourism and entertainment.

Investor Daily was reported that PT Asuransi Jiwa Bakrie (Bakrie Life) decided to raise its premium income target become to Rp. 1 trillion, asset target become to Rp. 1.1 trillion and operating target become to Rp. 45 billion.
Director of Bakrie Life, Timoer Soetanto said that till June, 30 the company was posted Rp. 400 billion (US$ 43.5 million) in premium income for which its whole’s year target was set at Rp. 700 billion.

Businessman in property area was very optimist that for the next year (2009) their business will be increase by significantly.
It was predicted by our goverment that the interest rate will be suistanable cause by the decreasing of inflation. Government assume that on 2009, our economic growht will be at level 6.2%, the inflation at level 6.5% and the average exchange rate of our currency (IDR) at level Rp. 9.100 per US Dollar. Joseph E. Stiglitz as an economic nobel winner said that the economic system currently is not siding with the poor, and an alternative economic system would be needed. The current economic condition is an egoistic and individualistic, which makes it difficult to build unity in diversity.
Related by current economic condition, writer of “Bung Hatta dan Ekonomi Islam: Pergulatan Menangkap Makna Keadilan dan Kesejahteraan”, Anwar Abbas also said that economic system who introduced by Muhammad Hatta is still relevant and suitable for application to the current conditions, and may even provide ways and means to improve the life of the ordinary people in our country.

July, 13 August, 2008, PT Bank Mandiri Tbk and Blue Bird Group was agree to implementing electronic transaction (e-transaction) payment system by Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine for Silver Bird Taxi.
Director of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk., Agus Martowardojo said that by this agreement, Mandiri credit card holder’s will be easier when doing the transaction with Silver Bird Taxi and it is also part of additional service for theirs consument. Read more »
